Trafalgar Hills Forge relocated to Taupo in March 2006. Our purpose is to
provide the highest possible standard of farriery work to ensure that
optimum satisfaction is achieved in your equine endeavours. We aim to do
this by building a working relationship with our clients to ensure that
their requirements are met. Each horse and each hoof is unique and treated
as such! We use top quality materials and equipment for each specific job.
We also ensure that continuing professional development and training occurs
through competition, seminars and clinics. We have a set number of clients
so that we are able to take time with you and your horse to give you an
individual quality service at each visit. A client newsletter keeps clients
up to date with news, views and interesting items.
All types of farriery work are undertaken, for all equine disciplines and
performance levels. Much of my work involves therapeutic and remedial
shoeing in collaboration with vets. I also take clinics on all aspects of
hoof-care from basics to advanced shoeing and forging techniques. As a
farrier, I have worked in the UK and in Japan and have gained much
experience in all aspects of farriery work. I come from a horsey family and
I have ridden all my life. Currently I enjoy hunting with a bit of show
jumping thrown in. Most of the horses I ride are home-bred and trained.
Currently my wife, Jenny and I have 8 horses of mixed breeds and ages on the
farm.
I am the Vice-President of the NZFA and am in regular attendance at most
forging competitions in NZ and have also travelled to compete in other
countries. I was judge at 2004 NZ Nationals.
